For ceramic and porcelain showers, we use an acidic cleaner to help dissolve the hard water and soap scum, along with hand scrubbing and a high-pressure rinse with 200-degree water from our truck-mounted unit to thoroughly clean the entire surface. The shower is then dried thoroughly, and a solvent penetrating sealer is applied by hand to the grout lines.

Natural Stone Shower Cleaning, Honing & Polishing

For natural stone showers, the process is very different. Calcium based stones cannot withstand harsh chemicals, so an alkaline cleaner is used to help clean the surface, in conjunction with a hand grinder and diamond honing pads. The pads remove a microlayer of the surface, which will in turn remove the hard water build-up and soap scum. After the honing process, the shower is rinsed with medium pressure water at 200-degrees and then dried thoroughly. Penetrating sealer is applied to both the stone and the grout lines. We also offer polishing services on shower walls with options of matte, semi-gloss, high shine, and high gloss.
